Things you may or may not want to know before buying– Glitches: It has occasional glitches, like where enemies dont respond or the enemies diagonal track to you graphically messes up. Not too big of a deal, shouldn’t affect gameplay. Difficulty and gameplay: Certain parts of the game are difficult, especially for a small child.
For example when you play as Zuko and the entirety of the Excape the Library segment. The rest of the gameplay is fairly simple, even if you dont really pay much too much attention to the tutorials. Although finding certain items can be semi difficult ie: cabbages and one of the supply bags in the 2nd chapter. And the minigames? They very in difficulty, but overall i wouldn’t consider too hard. The most difficult one is in Gaoling and has you jumping over a rock at a specific time, and the easiest is at the beginning and has you “healing” tapping the injuries of people.
Game length: Varies. For me it was around 7 hours, when I was a kid it took me a lot longer. Story: Its a much more simplified version of the story from the kid’s show, kind of sped up and slightly altered. Which, actually makes a lot of sense, because you can only put so much into a ds game. Overall: 8 years since my last play of it and still as beautiful as ever in my eyes.
I consider this the best of the Avatar: the Last Airbender games. And absolutely nothing can change my love for this game and the characters. He attempted to play it twice, and discovered that there was no menu, and that it “froze” repeatedly.

Verified Purchase. I purchased this for my 9-year-old son. He loves the show and was excited to load this on the PC and dive right in. He did enjoy the game but one level was very differet in terms of difficulty and most of that due to poor design and inadequate documentation.
The interface is distant third person and resembles a console game shoved into a PC environment. There is a surprising lack of help to be had on the Internet as apparently most fans of the show opted to purchase a console version of the game, leaving little or no public information to help frustrated gamers who happen upon the North Siege level.
At any rate, with my help over a couple of days, we figured out the frustrating level and my son finished the final chapter in less than an additional hour. My advice: buy the PS2, Xbox or Gamecube version. My grandchildren are such big fans of Avatar they haven’t noticed the 10 year old game design technology used to create this program. Although published in the game reminds me of Atari’s Missle Command and other simple games created years ago, just more eye appealing.
Low budget game design is a thing of the past and doomed to financial failure. So here’s the challenge: THQ, give it up! Give the Avatar game software franchise to a company that will put the time and effort into creating a great game.
If you are an Avatar fan, you will find this game as something rare to collect, like the DVD Books, but far from than I found it really dissapointing.
The graphics could be improved, greatly improved. I gave a 3 stars because I like to collect Avatar stuff and basically this is a kid’s game my brother, who is 7 seven years old liked it, and it is unfair to punish the game’s rate, but dont expect too much if you are older. I think that THQ could do a better job.
